This is the last post on the subject of gardening. I haven't done any gardening this week and that's basically because we've had bad weather every day since Monday. Rain, lots and lots of rain, and I'm afraid that if I go out there I may never be able to return.
But today, I will put on my boots and brave it. Because next week is VBS and then the rodeo and I always fail, ALWAYS, at gardening during this week of the summer. Every year I have good intentions and every year, I get behind and then I never catch up. I still have so much to plant.
All those things I told you I needed to plant last week - yup, haven't done it. But I will or I won't and it will not be the end of the world. I still am planning on trying.
Keep pressing on.

Thursday's Thoughts -
My sister (step-sister) wrote a post recently in her blog Five in Tow, about being here - right where we are. Since we are in a "hallway" of sorts and are looking to the Lord for the future and some possibilities that are out there, I find that I need to continually remember to be here. Or as one of my favorite quotes says above, "Wherever you are, be all there."

Wednesday's Household - Delegate!
With the rodeo and VBS looming before me, I know that my tendency is to let the house go and just allow it to get trashed. Trouble is - I had it clean last Friday and by Saturday it wasn't looking too pretty.
Carpenter had a talk with me last night. He knows the load I am under right now, but he had to take the time to remind me of some issues I have overlooked in our house. At first, my response was "Ouch!" even though my lips were silent. But as I considered what he had to say, I realized he was right.
And now, look out kids, we're going to get this done today. I have a lighter load today, because yesterday when I showed up at church to paint the decorations, there were a lot of ladies there ready to work. We were going to work for three hours, but because we got done so quickly we went home early.
So today, I have painting VBS decorations checked off the list before we even start the day, though Jones has some plans to do some today. Things he would like to do.
So, now, I'm going to set up some teams and work on the house for about a half hour in each area that really needs work - which equals about 4 or 5 areas. Obviously I need to keep up with laundry and I really need to get out in the garden and weed even though it's been raining a lot.
No wii, till bedrooms are clean. Have you heard me say that before? I have, but got away from it.
What I'm realizing is that although I am swamped with these other two major things, I still need to keep up at home. A huge thanks to those who came over to help me with VBS because without that I would be a lot more stressed.
Have a wonderful day

Easy chicken
Yesterday we spent the day splitting wood and playing in the pond out in the pasture. We also had a great time with Carpenter's aunt and uncle and cousin. It was a great day. I told Carpenter I wished that more days could be spent like that.
Today though we're kicking it in high gear. VBS starts on Monday and I'm the director, so we'll spend this afternoon at church getting things painted and ready and Thursday we'll be over there. Because of all that, I need to have something ready for supper.
We cooked up chickens this weekend, so I have a lot of already cooked and boneless chicken in the freezer. I took a bag out and put three cans of cream soup (2 of chicken and 1 of mushroom). I put it all in the crockpot on low. Later right before we eat I'll add a cup of sour cream. We'll put it over rice.
I love the fact that I can make rice now (10 in the morning) and once it has cooked I'll just turn off the stove and leave it there till I need it tonight. It won't be hot, but it will be room temp. So then we pour the hot gravy over it and it's perfect.
Have a great day

Titus 2 Tea - Gardening
The garden is coming along great. I don't have as much planted as I want to but maybe today will be that day.
I just have one extra kid, but we have piano lessons, meetings with the school guidance counselor, trip to the dump and then a trip with hubby to go pick up things for the rodeo concessions in a couple of weeks.
Uh, doesn't look like I have a lot of time to be gardening.
Potatoes need to be planted and onions, beans lettuce, spinach, carrots, um yeah, pretty much everything.
What is very cool is that the little kids decided yesterday afternoon that they needed the weeds for their fort. O.k. Not sure why, but who cares? They hauled away at least three wheelbarrows of weeds that are where I need to be planting, so I'm one happy girl. Also they don't have time to squabble when they are working as a team getting all those valuable weeds.
Today they are out there again filling wheelbarrows. Tank is the leader and the motivator. He's having a blast.
It's so fun to have my kids excited to do something that needs to be done, even if it is motivated by reasons other than my own. :)
